On August 24, 2026, I had the pleasure of photographing the Marin Builders Association’s 50th Annual Golf Classic – Luau on the Links at StoneTree Golf Club in Novato, California.
It was a fantastic day filled with golf, networking, laughter, great people, and plenty of Hawaiian-inspired fun. The event brought together members of Marin County’s building and construction community for a memorable day on the course and a celebration of over 65 years for Marin Builders Association.
StoneTree Golf Club provided a beautiful backdrop for the event, with its rolling Marin County landscape, oak trees, greens, and open views.
Capturing the Energy of the 50th Annual Golf Classic
As an event photographer, my goal is to capture more than just posed group photographs. I look for the moments that tell the story of an event — the golfers getting ready for their rounds, conversations between colleagues, sponsor displays, teams celebrating, candid interactions, and all of those unexpected moments that make an event memorable.
The Luau on the Links provided plenty of those moments.
From the first groups heading out onto the course to the camaraderie between golfers and sponsors, the day was a great example of how events bring the Marin business community together.
The 50th anniversary made this year's golf classic especially meaningful. The Marin Builders Association has been serving Marin County's construction industry for over 65 years, supporting its members, community, education, and industry initiatives.
A Great Day of Golf, Networking & Community
Golf tournaments like the Marin Builders Association Golf Classic are about much more than the game itself.
They create an opportunity for contractors, suppliers, builders, designers, financial professionals, and other industry partners to spend time together outside the office. The Luau on the Links atmosphere made it easy to see the strong sense of community throughout the day.
Throughout the event, I photographed golfers, teams, sponsors, candid conversations, group photographs, and the overall atmosphere of the tournament — creating a collection of images that can be used to remember and promote this special event.
